A Parenting Tip For Newbies - Check Whos Really In Charge

I remember it well.

My oldest son was a tiny little toddler, full of spunk. I was still a newbie mom, delighted that my precious son was healthy and thriving. We were enjoying each new day together, lulled into the luscious sense that we were buddies. You know, on-the-same-side.

Parenting Tip 101: when they're cute and happy...beware.

As you are about to find out, it really wasn't my fault at all...I mean, how could I have even KNOWN what he was about to do?

Let me start at the beginning. The beginning of that day, not the beginning of his life. We did our morning thing at home. Breakfast, getting dressed, picking up toys (Round One for the day). I needed to go to the store for a few items so off we went, me with my list and him with his dry diaper.

Life was good. Life was SWEET.

(By the way, let me say now, as a parent that should be your first clue. When things are going well, really, really smoothly, look out. In fact, duck. Something big is coming.)

Anyway, back to my story.

My son and I arrived at the store where I deposited him gently into a waiting shopping cart. He immediately began the process of removing himself from the cart. I began the process of reinserting him into the cart.

I won. We began shopping.

Things actually went swimmingly for awhile. I collected the items I needed while Son #1 interested himself with the big wide world around him. Being a social child, people were one of his favorite toys. He smiled, he giggled, he reached out with his chubby little hand as other shoppers moved in and out of his visual range.

Did I mention life was sweet?

My first mistake was getting complacent. I know, I know, that's a tactical error I would never have committed later on in my parenting career, but I was a newbie, remember? Little son seemed so happy I forgot how quickly the scenario could change. So I let my guard down and I actually...I'm ashamed to admit it...I BROWSED. I slowly and pleasurably went from item to item, savoring my tiny bit of adult time.

Son-boy caught on real fast.

His wide smile drooped, a little. He squirmed, more. His giggles took on a slight whiney quality.

But I was hooked. I was SHOPPING.

We did alright for a bit. But the kid's non-existent patience was wearing thin. His giggles were totally gone now and he was talking to me, plaintively.

"Mommy. Mommy! MOMMMYYYYY!

I tried to soothe him with one hand without diverting my attention from the racks of clothing I was picking through. In the back of my mind, I tried to gauge how long I had until his cries would become annoying and I would actually have to bless him with my undivided attention.

In reality, my son was way ahead of me.

Since his attempts to get my focus were not working, he upped the ante. Rummaging through his limited vocabulary, he discovered a treasure as immense as any buried in the Valley of the Kings. It was a big word, huge by his budding understanding and he didn't even know what it meant. But he had heard it recently and it had come out of the mouth of an adult so it must be GOOD.

And now was the perfect time to try it out.

"Die-ree-uh! Die-ree-uh!"

My beautiful little son sang out his new word with all the gusto he could muster. Truly, he was nearly shrieking the word, and his clarity was astonishing.

More importantly, he now had my full and complete attention.

I put both my hands on either side of his round little face and shushed him gently.

No change.

I got firmer, scrunching my face in my fiercest 'no' expression and shaking my head strongly.

Nada. Zilch response on the positive scale.

So I did what any good parent would do in the same situation. I ditched the cart and contents, grabbed the kid and made for the store exit.

'Die-ree-uh' and I swooped through the door and into the sunlight, which magically transformed him instantly.

"Mommy done?" he asked pleasantly.

"Oh yah," I replied, humbled by his self-control. "Mommy done shopping for the next 18 years."

As I cuddled him into his car seat, I laughed at myself. I had a lot to learn about influencing my son's behavior and he apparently was born knowing how to control mine.

New Home Communities - Rebate Program

If you are looking to buy a new home, and you have heard about Rebate programs then you are no doubt wanting to find out more about how you can save money using it. Before you decide to go ahead and save money using a rebate program, it can first be helpful to get to grips with exactly how they work.

What Kind of Homes Apply?

When saving money with a rebate program, you will need to ensure that you manage to find a home that applies. In most cases, the only kind of home that will apply is a new home. The reason for this is that old homes do not have as much profit associated with re-sale. This is because when a builder builds a new home, they make all the money associated with selling it. When someone is selling their existing home, they do not make as much money as they had to buy the house in the first place.

Who Offers a Rebate?

A real estate agent offers a rebate, and it is very unusual to be able to get one from the building company directly. The reason for this is that, if they offered a rebate to everyone then they might as well make the price of the house the current value minus the rebate. That is why, should you wish to get a rebate, you will have to contact a real estate agent who will get the commission and pass a percentage back to you.

Why Offer a Rebate?

Real estate companies generally offer a rebate as a means of giving customers an incentive to go with them, rather than another real estate agent. When a rebate is offered, a customer can save such a massive amount of money that it would be illogical to go with any other provider. The reason that a real estate firm can afford to pay this is simple they still make 1% off of the value of a property, which is similar to what they make when selling a house that has already been lived in.

How do you find a Company Offering a Rebate?

In order to find a company offering a rebate, you can go about it in a number of ways. If you have a specific new community from which you would like to buy a home, then you should find out who is selling it and find out who is offering rebates and for what amount. From there, you can then decide on the best deal for you. Another method is to contact real estate agents and brokers in you area and find out if any offer rebates for new communities that are being built in and around areas that you would like to live. When you are looking for real estate agents, you could choose to use classified sections in the yellow pages and other directories, or alternatively you could take advantage of search engines which are now a great way to find exactly what you are looking for when it comes to real estate.

What you should know about Slip and Fall Injury Claims

Imagine waking up and being roused from bed on the idea that you have the day off and you will be spending your hard-earned money on a shopping spree you have been planning for ages. You have your clothing all set, mind frame focused on that suit you have been dreaming since you had your first pay check, and all financial resources as good as cash.

You enter your favorite shopping store only to wake up the next day on a hospital bed because of a dreaded accident that you have experienced. Yes, reality indeed bites, and when reality includes being a victim of a slip and fall injury, then not merely would it bite it is coupled with striking pain as well. Slip and fall injuries are part of a class of injuries resulting from premise liability cases. It may be brought about either by spilled beverages, slippery surfaces because of the nature of the flooring surface itself, or the presence of foreign substance that might have led to such a situation.

Slip and fall claims have been rampant in our day and age. With the increase in private establishments catering to the needs of individuals, the victims of slip and fall injuries have become abundant as well. Slip and fall injuries are actually rooted from the negligence of the owner of the establishment. Moreover, as like any other negligence claim, a fruitful cause of action needs only to prove that the establishment has the duty to exert a certain degree of care. Furthermore, such duty of care that has not been complied with, and that an injury has been dealt to an individual who is not equally guilty for the injury he or she has suffered.

The fact that the slippery substance has been left at the subject premises for a long period of time, and that no means to remedy the same has been made by the owners of the establishment are some of the more common proofs to show negligence. Another important detail is the fact that the owner of the establishment has been made aware of the dangerous condition, yet despite such knowledge no personnel from the establishment acted on such condition, if these facts have been proven then surely the owner of the establishment would be held liable for the slip and fall injury. The services of personal injury defenders on slip and fall cases would be essential to promote any victims claim.

Credit Card Lingo

Knowing Whats Out There And What To Choose

The World of finance can be a tricky game for both the seasoned veteran and the novice borrower. Banks can by accident or design make even the most simple information seem complicated and through this unwittingly (or not) induce their customers to go for products that might not be best suited to their needs.

Credit, charge, ATM and debit cards are not all alike. Although you might think that they are basically the same thing a way of making payment for purchases or means of getting cash they are actually quite different. So as to use these cards wisely, you should know what each one is and how it differs from the others. Heres some information to help you choose wisely.

Credit Cards

Credit cards can be a great way of paying for a purchase. They are easy to apply for, easy to use, and flexible in their repayment options. However, if you carry a balance, credit cards can be like very expensive loans.

A credit card works like this: the credit card company supplies you with a card; you use that card to pay for items and services up to a certain total amount -- your credit limit. The store or service provider then collects what you owe from the card issuer, whom you repay. You're then allowed to pay off as much or almost as little as you like off the balance each month, so long as you pay a minimum amount each time (usually 2.5 per cent).

On the outstanding balance youre charged interest (which can be as high as 25% or more each year) at the end of each monthly period, unless you pay the full balance each time your bill arrives.

Credit cards are immensely profitable for issuers for a variety of reasons. The high rate of interest yields issuing banks and companies vast profits in some cases the bulk of an institutions earnings. In addition to the interest, many companies charge an annual membership fee for a credit card, as well as a plethora of other charges, including late fees, over-the-limit fees and other miscellaneous charges. Companies also profit by charging stores a fee each time a customer uses a credit card in their establishment.

There are three different types of credit card available:

Unsecured Credit Cards

These cards are commonly made available to those with good credit history and credit score. These cards require no bank deposit amounts to secure and usually have no annual fees and low rate of interest.

Higher Risk Credit Cards

These cards are usually given to people who have a lower paying job, and/or poor credit history and credit score. Often these cards charge an activation fee, and also usually charge an annual fee of up to $80.

Secured Credit Cards

These cards are given to people who have a lower paying job, and/or a very poor credit history and credit score. Often these cards require a deposit to be made to the lender, sometimes as much as near or equal to the amount of credit available on the card. If the borrower can prove their credit worthiness over time, that credit limit is then upped. These cards also attract a high annual fee of up to $100 and charge high rates of interest.

Charge Cards

Charge cards (also known as travel and entertainment cards) are slightly from credit cards. The most famous charge cards, such as American Express and Diners Club, have an unlimited credit limit. Normally you can charge as much as you like, but you are required to pay off your balance in full when your bill arrives.

Theres one exception to this: If you charge air fare, cruise fees or hotel charges booked through a travel agent on an American Express card, you have an option to pay off your balance over 36 months. Theres a sting in the tail, however: you'll be charged around 20 per cent interest and will have to make minimum monthly payments of $20.

The way charge card companies like American Express make their profits is by charging very high annual fees up to $100 and by hitting merchants with relatively high charges each time a customer pays using their card.

If you don't pay your charge card bill in full (unless the charges are travel expenses on an American Express card), you'll get a one-month period of grace, when no interest is charged. Beyond that, however, you'll be charged interest, which weighs in at about 18 per cent. After about three months, if your account is still not settled, your account will be closed and your bill sent to the collections department.

Cash Advances

Some people use their credit or charge cards to obtain cash advances. This can be an expensive way of accessing cash. Most banks charge a transaction fee that can be as much as 4% for taking a cash advance. Interest is also charged from the date the cash advance is posted, even if its paid back in full when your bill arrives. Moreover, the interest rate is usually higher on cash advances than on ordinary credit card charges.

ATM & Debit Cards

ATM and debit cards offer most of the same functions as credit and charge cards, but the crucial difference is that the money comes out of your bank account straight away. If you dont have the money, you cant buy the product.

For some people this is a preferable option: they like to keep track of their outgoings, to keep tabs on what theyve spent, to avoid any sort of debt no matter how brief.

There are disadvantages to using debit cards. It doesnt give you the option of up to a month to settle your statement. You also don't have the right to withhold payment with a debit card (the money is immediately removed from the account) in the event of a dispute with the merchant over the goods or services paid for. Some banks and merchants also charge transaction fees for the use of debit cards.

Jealousy Making You Turn Green? Turn To Hypnotherapy

Cain killed Abel because he was jealous of him. Da Vinci Code says St. Peter was jealous of Jesus affection towards Mary Magdalene. Jealousy has been a part of human existence since the time our forefathers walked this earth, and even today it is one of the most common emotions that affect people across the world. We could go as far as saying that its the most human of all emotions, and its natural to feel jealous from time to time. But if it is this human, why is it called the Green Monster? Its because if jealousy goes unchecked it can bring about obsessive behavior, uncontrollable anger and can even lead to violence. It is at such a stage that intervention is required to keep jealousy at bay, and this is where a session of Hypnotherapy could help you.

Jealousy is a result of an overactive imagination, and is further fuelled by insecurity that a person might be afflicted with. When this imagination and insecurity coincide, what takes place are ugly scenes, in the mind of the person who is jealous. A simple action or word spoken by your partner can take on epic proportions, as you play out scenes of infidelity over and over in your mind.

In most cases this suspicion is unfounded and can only lead to hurting and mud-slinging. If one lets it remain that way, a lot of anger and bitterness can be left festering in both the partners, which could eventually lead to the death of what otherwise could have been a happy relationship.

How can hypnotherapy help you in curing an emotional problem such as jealousy? One of the first things to be established when you consult a practitioner for hypnotherapy is that your jealousy is the result of immense love for your partner. But they will also tell you at the same time that the way you channelise this love might be misguided. Your intentions might be noble, but the route you take to demonstrate the love is not right. Controlling someones life to protect them is not the best thing to do. In love, one needs to let go. And this is exactly what you will learn.

Hypnotherapy makes you aware of the core issues in your past that act as triggers for this jealousy. It helps you create a positive self image, so that the insecurities are done away with. It helps you in being calm, confident and positive; and you will be surprised at the changes you will see in your partners behavior. Remember negativity breeds negativity and the best gift to give yourself and your partner is to make efforts to get out of these negative emotions and work towards nurturing a relationship.

Understanding 0 APR Credit Cards

A 0% APR is essentially a credit card offered by credit card companies to their consumers with an annual percentage rate (APR) of zero percent. However, this rate does not exist forever, and after a period that ranges between three to twelve months, credit card companies begin charging higher rates of interest. Therefore, the major factors to be considered are the duration of the no-interest period, and what would be the APR rate after the offer ends.

Advantages of owning a 0% APR Credit card:

Though 0% APR credit cards have a few catches, they can also prove to be advantageous for its users. The best way to assess these cards is by actually using one. If you pay off the monthly balance regularly, then the rate of interest will not be a major concern. Some of its main benefits are as follows:

- Cut down the interest rate: A 0% APR credit card is popular among users with heavy outstanding card balances. It helps them to slash the rate of interest incurred upon their debt.

- Travel benefits: A 0% APR credit cards offer travel benefits to its users. You could profit from this card if you travel by air frequently. Most companies provide bonus air mile benefits on APR credit cards. This could be as much as twenty-five thousand miles, merely by signing up and making your first purchase from this card. The travel facility could also be used for hotel rooms, meals and other additional alternatives. It also provides you with free gas discounts and rebates in purchasing a car.

- Cash back or reward benefits: Low APR credit cards also provide a system where you could get back a percentage of your purchases. You could get a reward of five percent for certain kinds of purchases you make.

- Paying off debt: Transferring your credit card balance that needs to be paid off to a new credit card with 0% APR would be a better money- saving solution, than holding on to the old card with a high rate of interest.

- Start up a new credit history: A 0% APR credit card can be used to establish a new credit history for a cardholder with a previous credit card debt. These cards curb the credit card usage, and initiate the necessity of spending within the budget. However, it might not be issued to people with a bad credit history.

Limitations of 0 percent interest APR credit cards:

A 0% APR credit card often comes with strings attached. Some of the major limitations are as follows:

- Usually, a 0% APR credit card offers the no-interest benefit for only a limited period, such as six months to a year.
- It might not allow you to transfer balances from high interest credit cards during the introductory 0% offer period.
- It could charge expensive fees for the process of transferring the balance.
- Some of these credit cards bear very high penalties for late payments, and automatically transfer you to an inconsistent APR rate.
- It often charges a very high interest rate once the initial offer period expires.

Therefore, although 0% APR credit cards may seem too good to be true, they do have a number of real advantages. While these promotional offers by credit card companies are useful, they need to be taken up judiciously.

How To Choose A Business Credit Card

A business credit card might a be good option if you are a business owner looking to streamline your accounts management. Here are some factors to consider when choosing a business credit card.

Look At The Interest Rate

One of the most important issues is the annual percentage rate (APR). This is the interest that lenders charged on any outstanding debt. The APR varies considerably between lenders, so it is worth shopping around for one that you find acceptable. You should also pay attention to the interest rate for cash withdrawals. As with personal credit cards, the APR on cash withdrawals can be very high. This is worth considering if you intend to use your business credit card to withdraw cash.

Check Out The Fees

Some business credit cards charge annual fees. These can range from around 20 to as much as 75. However, there are still some business credit cards that do not have a fee, so it is worth considering these if the other factors meet your requirements. Another fee to consider is the application fee. It may be worth searching for a credit card provider who will waive this fee.

The amount of credit you will get and the repayment period are crucial aspects for managing your business. You'll want to get as long a grace period (interest-free period) as possible.

Business Or Personal?

Like personal credit cards, some business credit cards also offer rewards. These can be points that can be applied to purchases or useful rewards such as air miles or travel points of some sort. However, the range of rewards for personal credit cards is far greater.

Some business owners may be tempted to manage their business spending via a personal credit card, but this is best avoided for three reasons. First, the credit limit given will not match the kind of credit limit a business credit card might get. Second, the interest rates and repayment periods on business credit cards are designed to help with business cash flow. Third, if you find yourself in debt, any spending on a personal credit card is your personal liability. In comparison, spending on a business credit card is charged to the business rather than an individual.

Credit Or Charge?

Business owners also have other options for managing their finances. Some can choose debit cards. This will mean that there is no line of credit and business owners can only spend what is in the business account.

Another option is a business charge card. Like a credit card, there is often a fee for having a charge card, but there is no APR and no minimum repayment. This is because any spending on the charge card must be repaid in full at the end of the pay period.

Whichever option business owners go for, there are a number of good reasons to use a card for managing business expenses. This can be especially useful for businesses with a lot of employees as they can use a business credit card to track expenses and cut down on in-house accountancy.

Expand Your Business With A Merchant Account

If you have a small business, and are looking to expand, obtaining a merchant account may be the way to go. A merchant account enables you to accept credit cards for payment. A merchant account can be opened through a bank that is a member of at least one of the major credit card networks (Visa, MasterCard, etc.).

There are different types of merchant accounts. Retail accounts, online accounts, and mail order/telephone accounts are a few examples.

Retail accounts are just what they sound like. Most people have likely used them in the past. When they shop at a retailer, weather it be for groceries or building supplies, and they pay with a debit or credit card, they have just used the retailers merchant account. When the consumer swiped the card through the reader, the machine processed the credit card transaction with the card association, and then acquired authorization from the issuing bank. When accepted the issuing bank transfers the amount of the purchase to the merchants bank. This happens millions of times every day as consumers purchase goods, all over the world.

Online merchant accounts work in a similar way to retail merchant accounts, but there is no machine to swipe the credit card through. Instead, the consumer fills out a form on the website they are purchasing goods or services from with their credit card information. When they submit the card information, it goes through a series of procedures which will ultimately accept or decline the transaction. Again, when accepted, the issuing bank transfers the amount of the purchase to the merchants bank. If an online business wishes to succeed, a merchant account is imperative, as cash transactions are nearly impossible, and there is no terminal for the consumer swipe a credit card through.

Mail Order/telephone merchant accounts work nearly the same way as online merchant accounts, but instead of the consumer typing in the credit card information at a website, they are giving it to the merchant via telephone or paperwork submitted through the mail. After the merchant enters the credit card information into their network, the process is the same as retail merchant accounts and online merchant accounts. The customers card will either get declined or accepted. Upon being accepted, the customer will receive their goods/services.

These are a few examples of merchant accounts and how they work. For more information on merchant accounts, visit http://www.credit-card-merchant.info. You will find a variety of information on the subject, and also the latest news and technology.

The Number One Secret To Getting Your Worst Pupils To Behave

There is one true key to successful behavior management. It doesn't matter how many effective teaching skills and useful behavior strategies you have in your arsenal; without this, your efforts will eventually come unstuck.

The secret ingredient is the teacher-pupil relationship.

You see, when you really get to know a pupil you become aware of their triggers the things that upset them and cause all sorts of problems in class. And when you're dealing with children who carry all kinds of emotional baggage and flare up for no apparent reason, this is valuable knowledge.

After all stopping behavior problems from occurring is much easier when you know in advance what causes them!

When you take the time to get to know a pupil, you find out what they enjoy, what they like doing and what their interests are. With this information you have the power to make all your lessons instantly appealing and your conversations with them stimulating.

When you reach out and get to know any child in school you show them they're valued as people. Once they learn this, their ability to take an active role in other positive relationship is improved; they fit in better and so are less likely to get into serious trouble and less likely to spoil your lessons. Also, when you show you're actually interested in them as individuals they will respect and trust you. Pupils will behave much better for the teacher they trust and respect.

Once you get to know them anything really is possible; doors are opened to a whole new world of communication, cooperation, fun and mutual respect.

The best technique I've found for helping you discover their likes, dislikes, hobbies, passions and interests is

an age-old salesman's tool called the Record Card'.

Record cards are used by salesmen to record a client's personal information and so enable him to be more familiar' on his next visit. Each time he returns to the same client and has a conversation, more information is recorded on the card. It might be a chat about the football last night revealing his favorite team for example or a few words about his family.

These tidbits gradually build up and form library of useful information which can be drawn on to deepen the relationship during the next meeting. It's a well known fact that people would rather have a conversation about their own lives and interests than anything else, so the salesman that does this will always make the sale.

The huge benefit of the information on the record card is that it enables the salesman to tailor the conversation, and even new product lines, to the client's interests, needs and desires. When this is done, the client is far more receptive and likely to buy.

We can discover the passions and interests of our students very quickly through our own simple version of the Record Card a fun questionnaire to give to the worst pupils in class as a fill-in activity.

The information you glean from these completed questionnaires is priceless and these are just some of the ways you can use it

Tailor rewards to a pupil's interests making them have more effect. (if you have a pupil who's nuts about a certain breed of dog there's no point in giving him a sticker with a car on it!) Provide reading material magazines, journals and books that relate to their specific areas of interest for break times, quiet reading sessions, registration etc.

Plan really, really interesting lessons! I'm talking about lessons that grab them from the word go and hold their attention all the way through. This is only possible when they're actually interested in what you're talking about. You might choose to plan a series of lessons for the whole class around a topic that several pupils are interested in, or cover a skill such as narrative writing and encourage them to write a story about their subject of interest.

Use them as a relationship-building tool. They enable you to strike up conversation on a topic you know they're interested in and this is crucial with hard to reach' kids it shows you care about them and are interested in them as people. Being able to chat with a pupil on their level is magical and is the short-cut to having far fewer discipline problems.

The Growth In The Organic And Healthy Food Market

Organic produce is one of the fastest growing food retail sectors in the country.

Health scares such as BSE and foot-and-mouth, plus fears of GM crops/food and synthetic dyes and ingredients such as Sudan1 have led to considerable growth in the organic and the healthy food market as worried consumers seek out more healthy and natural products.

Recent research by market analysts nVision suggests four in ten adults now choose organic options on a regular basis. Organic supermarkets in England are boming and Europes biggest organic event, the Biofach exhibition in Germany in getting bigger every year.

Unfortunately, at the moment retailers are charging artificially high prices. I was in Tesco last week which is a rare occurrence as I shop locally where possible, and I nearly died when I saw the prices being charged for organic yogurt and eggs compared to the non-organic brands. Its about time that the government started to investigate these organic suppliers and supermarkets to see who is ripping us off! Encouraging competition is not always a good idea as this can drives down prices (good for the consumer) which can put organic suppliers out of business if they have small profit margins. I understand that we have to pay more for organic produce because there are more crop failures due to the fact that the farmers cannot use pesticides, but what is an acceptable percentage and does this vary from product to product. Should organic fish be 10 percent more expensive than non organic fish and vegetables 20 per cent etc?

Once only available in small health shops or farmers markets, organic foods are becoming much more widely available. In the past 10 years sales of organic food in the UK have increased over 10-fold from 100m in 1993/94 to nearly 1.4bn in 2004/05. This large growth is predicted to continue, and many companies are jumping into the market. Sales through farmers markets and farm shops have grown faster than any other retail outlet. Organic food and drink now accounts for 1.2 per cent of the total retail market (Source Soil Association).

There are two types of organic foods.

Fresh food

Fresh food is seasonal and perishable. Vegetables and fruits are the most available type of organic, fresh food, and are closely associated with organic farming. They are often purchased directly from growers, at farmers markets, supermarkets or through speciality food stores. Organic meat, eggs, dairy are also available.

Processed food

Processed food accounts for most of the items in a supermarket. Often, within the same store, both organic and conventional versions of products are available, and the price of the organic version is usually higher as already mentioned. Most processed organic food comes from larger companies producing and marketing products like organic baby food, organic beer, organic pasta or other convenience foods.

How do I know its organic?

The term organic is defined by law - all organic food production and processing is governed by a strict set of rules. Look for symbols such as the Soil Association symbol for your guarantee of the highest organic standards. The Soil Association organic symbol is the UK's largest and most recognisable trademark for organic produce. Wherever you see it you can be sure that the food you have purchased has been produced and processed to strict and rigorous animal welfare and environmental standards. Other symbols to look out for include the Organic Food Federation and Certified Organic Ingredients.

Most people dont have enough time to read the labels of all the different food products that they buy to check for organic ingredients. So look for the various symbols, you can then be sure that the product complies with minimum government standards.

The use of such symbols is entirely optional and a product can still be organic even though if it doesnt carry the symbol of a certifying body. That means if you want to be 100% satisfied that what you are eating or using is organic always read the label or speak to the vendor.

Where you will find the symbol? - Look out for organic symbols on almost any kind of food and drink you can think of from fresh produce like fruit, vegetables and meat to processed foods such as bread or baby food. You can even buy organic pet food!

Why Do Successful Realtors Earn Money When They Sleep?

With the Internet penetrating every aspect of our life, its getting impossible to stay uninvolved. You cant ignore the World Wide Web with its millions of users, or else it will ignore you. If you deal with vacation rentals business, but you haven't yet gone online, you are missing an opportunity to vastly increase your exposure to potential customers and increase your revenue.

I wish I could work 24 hours a day as my web site does, - said one of my friends. And here it is, the main secret of online presence: You can be in many right places at many right times. In fact, the time and place are always right on the Internet. Discover other secrets:

Full automation of your business

If your business is online, you can earn money round the clock. The property management software, which your rental portal is based on, automates guest-owner negotiations, accepts payments, tracks the statistics, shows property photos, and displays the available/ reserved dates for a property. The best thing about it is that it requires no involvement from your side.

Money Flow

You may charge property owners for being listed on your rental portal. This is more convenient than taking commission on every rent. A regular, stable income is better than one time commission jackpots from rents; at least if you intend to be in the business for a long time. Still, no involvement from your side is needed. Owners can simply pay the membership fee via a built-in credit card processor. You may clean your teeth, sleep, eat, do whatever you want to do; the Internet means that you can accept payments from eager property owners to your online account at any time.

Word-of-mouth advertising

Those who offer rental property via your web site and see good results are likely to recommend you to their colleagues. Thus, more and more owners will want to be listed on your web site. The more owners you have, the more money you earn.

Likewise, those who rented a property via your web site and liked the ease and availability of the online service are likely to recommend you to their relatives or friends. Bringing them to your web site is better than to just giving your phone number. Via phone, you can not show property photos and very often can not check immediately the availability of the property within the specified period of time.

Affordability

To market your properties online you do not have to invest a lot of funds. You may purchase a turn-key solution and install it in a few clicks. It costs from $200 to $400 depending on the features. Other expenses you will have are customization costs (if needed), hosting fee, and advertising. But the online world charges for all this much less than an offline one does. All this can be done from your home computer, isnt it a real honey?

Quick return on investment

The beauty of taking your business online is the speed you start returning your investment with. Most online realtors state that to become conspicuous in an Internet media is easier and quicker than in other media. Indeed, you may promote your rental web site all over the world. Anyone from any location can access your web site 24 hours a day. More visitors result in more customers. Would you mind being globally known?

Dear realtors, I urge you to take your business online. Do not lose precious time.

Goal-setting A Daily Affair!

We need to have Long term goals and short term goals.

Long term goals:

Be bold!
Just write down anything outragous!
Its ok, its GOAL anyway, right?

Remember, no invention begins without a BOLD Dream! We will not have computer, if someone dream of having a machine think as fast as us. We will not have car if on one ever though of having a machine to drive us around, we will probably still on horses.

Also, write down not one or tenbut, challenge and push yourself to write down 100 goals! Trust me! its not easy, but it is worth it! To date, i just managed to write 50 of them. Will complete it and rewritten it again every year! Its interesting to see and review yearly goals and notice the priority and importancy changed accordingly due to many factors.

Short term goals:

Be realistic
Achievable.
Something that can make us out of comfortable zone a little

Generally:

Write in present tense as if its already achieve.

Set a date realistically. Its ok to slipped a little, just adjust accordingly.

Be as clear as possible (used of words such as by or from or on)

Be as detail as possible (write down the color, shape, dimension, smell, sound, environmentetc)

Write in positive positive and not negative positive way. (eg, i want to replace smoking with exercise as compare to I want to stop smoking)

Use affirm word and not trying word. (eg, I MUST have as compare to I WISH to or I will TRY to

Set a plan.

Write it down EVERYDAY.

Yes, for short term goal, its important to write it down EVERYDAY! Not many goal setting resources will tell you to write EVERYDAY. YES! EVERYDAY! Why? so that our mind can be congruent to what we aim and shoot for. If possible, start a new day with writing down the goal FIRST THING! This will remind us and tell us each day, what ever we do, are we gearlng it towards our goal!

Remind that this is not those daily achieving goal where I will do this and that today. This is your short term goal which I will encourage everyone to write it everyday!

I started this last year for 3 months and then stopped due to whatever excuses I can find. But during that 3 months, amazingly, I managed to achieve 2 of my goals which i have replaced it this time.

I MUST write down everyday and persistent through. Will use this blog to remind myself!

BTW, you may ask, what if I miss the deadline? Well, reset, review and rewrite again! Hey, rocket scientist do not launch their rocket to moon with one single projectile. The actual path of rocket launch was correted consistently throughout the whole projectile! So...

You = Rocket
Goal = Moon
Deadline = consistently corrected throughout projectile

Thus, by writing down our goals daily, will help us to correct oand review our daily tasks if we are on the right track.

Which Credit Card Type Is Right For You?

If you're in the market for a new credit card, there is a bewildering array of cards to choose from. There are even more incentive offers, so how can you decide on the card that is best for you? Here are some of the factors to consider.

What Kind Of Payer Are You?

The most crucial question is whether you are a person who clears the credit card every month or whether you always leave a balance on the credit card. If you pay up at the end of every month, then you can go for a credit card that offers an incentive. If not, then you need to look at the annual percentage rate (APR) on the card. If you know what your typical credit card balance is, look at the illustrations given by card issuers to give a guide to how much you might have to repay over time.

Taking An Interest

Even with interest rates, you need to be careful. Although your new credit card may come with a 0% balance transfer rate, this is not the only rate to think about. Look at the rate on purchases or other transactions to see what you might be paying. And remember that any payments you make are likely to pay off the transferred balance first, while any new spending accrues interest.

Hand in hand with the interest rate goes the interest-free period. This is the delay between spending money on the credit card and being charged interest. This can vary considerably depending on the card you choose. The interest free period can be as much as 56 days. And it's how you use it that counts. If you put major spending on the credit card after the statement date, you have a month till the next statement, and then a few weeks to make the payment. This can be a good way of managing cash flow.

Look At The Fees

There are three types of fees that count with credit cards. The first is the cash withdrawal fee. Many credit card issuers charge you for withdrawing cash at an ATM. These fees can be around 2% of the transaction. The percentage is even higher when withdrawing cash abroad. If you must use the credit card, then you're better off making one large withdrawal so you don't pay the minimum fee each time.

Getting Some Cash Back

Many credit cards offer annual cashback deals which are great for people who clear their balance every month, but not so good for others. If you don't clear your balance, the interest charged will wipe out any cashback gains. There are also reward points schemes that allow cardholders to earn money from their spending and spend it again with a variety of high street and online retailers.

Paying attention to these items will help you to choose a credit card that will match your financial situation.

100 Promises to My Baby (Book Review)

When I read the first few pages of this book, I thought to myself that I had come across, finally, a book that goes further than a how-to baby book in the physical sense.

I also have to admit that what hooked me in the beginning was the quote from Tagore, opposite the contents page. "Every child is born proof that God has not given up on human beings." That is a quote I have always repeated to myself all through my life and all through the hectic times of our present-day history.

We take our baby raising tasks as if our babies are objects and they should be handled in a certain way. We always forget that there is a person inside that tiny being, and more importantly, that person has a soul. In contrast, Mallika Chopra's book raises our understanding of having children to a higher level, to the level of the soul, by reflecting her deep awareness of the responsibilities of becoming a mother.

The author, who has a physician's training, started writing this book when she was expecting her first child. In the introduction of the book she says she wanted to bond with her baby early on and started making her promises as a mother. Thus, this book was born out of the author's pledge to her baby so the baby could fulfill her potential and her purpose in life.

The author may have addressed the mothers, but fathers, too, can benefit greatly from this book. In close inspection, the book does not only relate the author's personal stories and commitment, but also, it influences mothers as well as fathers everywhere to think about their roles as parents.

"100 Promises to My Baby" has about ten chapters with titles like values, purpose, love, miracles, spirit, lessons, and traditions. With love and compassion as its highest goal, the book is interspersed with poetry, like that of Khalil Gibran, quotes from the Bhagavad Gita, definitions, and at the end of each chapter, some very precious reflections.

What I liked about the book was the charming style of telling personal stories. I believe, in a book, almost any reader looks for the personal touch or for anything of human interest, and here, that human interest gives this book its true depth.

The book, with ISBN:1594861293, has 252 pages and is in hardcover with an elegant white overlay.

The author, Mallika Chopra, is daughter of Deepak Chopra and mother of two children. A partner in Chopra Media and in the K Lounge in New York City, she is an author and producer with a medical school background. Her book, "100 Promises to My Baby" is a gift to mankind that will never go out of style.

Building Wealth in Modern Society

Websters Definition of Wealth: abundance of valuable material possessions or resources, abundant supply, all property that has a money value or exchangeable value, overflowing stock of useful goods having economic value at any one time.

The word wealth originated from the old English word weal, which means well-being or welfare.

Wealth is basically defined as one having an abundance of goods and resources or the ability to possess any type of goods or resources in abundance with the exchange of money. Another portion of the definition of wealth is possessing real estate or personal property with an exchangeable value. Wealth can also be defined as a state of well-being or good health.

In modern society, we have an increasing number of avenues to obtain wealth. Society must simply gain the knowledge and skills necessary to implement the proper strategies and techniques.

Strategies/Techniques/Methods:

-INHERIT WEALTH
-MARRY WEALTH
-TAKE WEALTH
-WIN WEALTH
-STRATEGIZE FOR WEALTH

STRATEGIES FOR WEALTH:

One strategy is called triple compounding, suggested by Steve Sjuggerud. Sjuggerud is the writer of investment letter True Wealth. He unfolds, Your account can grow at rapid speeds for three reasons: First, you are adding to your account every month. Second, if you invest in growth mutual funds, your accounts NAV (net asset value) is likely to increase overtime. Third, all dividends and distributions are automatically reinvested.

One of the least practiced techniques for building wealth is to set aside money in separate accounts. Regardless of income, budget and stash away at least 10% of your income each pay period and do not touch funds under any circumstances. Many individuals get a set amount taken out of their income before they see their paychecks (in addition to 401k). A number of self employed individuals with various pay periods take a portion of their income and place it in separate accounts. After saving a nice sum of cash, do your research and let your money work for you by diversifying and placing cash in different investment vehicles.

A few other strategies to build wealth in modern society is to invest in online global marketing, real estate, land, construction, funeral homes, medical practices, retail and service sector businesses.

IMPORTANT NOTE: MAKE A DECISION TO LIVE BELOW YOUR LIVING EXPENSES

International Cell Phone Services

If you are one who does a lot of international traveling, then you will want your clients to be able to reach you from wherever you might be in the world. But what are some of the options you have when it comes to maintaining your current level of cell phone (telefone celular) services worldwide? Do you have to buy a new plan? Do you have to pay outrageous rates? Just what is available?

First of all, the country where you live is very important when it comes to international cell phone (telefone celular) services. Most of the countries have one standard in cellular communications known as Global System for Mobile Communications or GSM. However, the United States did not follow the GSM standard and allowed competing wire carriers to develop their own standards. So, if you are coming from the United States and want to get cell phone coverage in another part of the world with your existing equipment, you probably will not be able to do it.

So lets get back to our options for international cell phone (telefone celular) service. It is important to understand that the key issues to having effective international cell phone service is that you must have a phone that will handle the frequencies plus a service that is compatible within the country you are communicating from. If you have a phone set that handles GSM service, then your phone will be compatible in at least 212 countries worldwide, as far as hardware is concerned. The only other item you will have to be concerned with is the service plan.

The GSM frequencies operate worldwide typically at 900 MHz but more and more the cell phones (telefone celular) are operating at 1800 MHz. There are some GSM phone services in the United States and Canada but they work at 1900 and 850 MHz and therefore are incompatible with the rest of the world. That is why more and more we are starting to see tri-band phones being sold that are compatible with both international and North American GSM frequencies. The Nokia 3220 is a good example as it will handle both the 1800 and 1900 MHz frequency bands.

But what about the international cell phone (telefone celular) service? If you get one of the tri-band phones you can get a SIM card that can be used in multiple countries. These SIM cards are somewhat like pre-paid phone service. You put the card in your GSM-capable phone and have international roaming coverage from wherever the card is valid.

When choosing an international cell phone SIM card for your GSM phone, there are things you should consider when making a decision on which SIM card to buy. First, what is the initial calling credit (how long before you have to recharge)? Of course you should know the rate structure of both the incoming and outgoing calls. Next you should make sure that your phone and SIM card you are purchasing will be valid for the countries you intend to travel.

Since you are not going to be global roaming with your home cell phone (telefone celular) service, you will want to let everyone there know how they can reach you by your new number. You can also change the greeting on the voice mailbox of your regular home cell phone service telling your callers your new access number while you are out of the country.

While you are using SIM cards that will be exchanged or replaced, make sure that you save everything (phone numbers, memos, notes, etc.) into your cell phone (telefone celular) handset and not the SIM card. If you save any information on your SIM card, then the information will be unavailable whenever you exchange for a new card in another country.

Internet Shopping Guide

When shopping on the Internet there are many things to consider, following are some guidelines to keep your experiences a positive one.

Shop online, or brick and mortar!

Many people shop at brick and mortar stores because they feel shipping charges only raise their total cost, however, unless you live in a high density populous like a major city, most often shipping charges cost less than the gasoline required to travel to and back from a brick and mortar store, especially when looking for bargains, which would probably require a stop off at more than two stores for price comparison, and even then when you find the best price, (even if you researched your favorite stores online) you run the risk of a fuel expense only to find your item not in stock, so by the time you actually come home with your item, your fuel expense was probably greater than most fast shipping costs would be. There is also the consideration of time, I live in a rural area where the nearest grocery store is about 12 miles away, and the discount big box retail stores, over 15 miles away, with an average speed limit of 50 mph, it would take approximately 20-25 minutes travel in each direction, around 20 more minutes to identify and locate the specific item(s) in the store, then there is the line at the check out area, depending what time of day/evening you go, it could be as little as 5 minutes and up to 30, as I have waited in check out lines at big box retail stores, so online shopping is not only green, ecologically, but you get more than an hour and a half of your life freed up to do other more desirable activities!

Is it safe to shop online?

Many people still hold on to the idea that online shopping is very risky, however with the implementation of a number of encryption techniques, your personal, and credit card information, is quite secure, but should you still feel a measure of insecurity inputting your credit card information at a website, there are additional steps you can take to insure zero liability on your part. Most credit cards offer a zero liability rider on their cards for any fraudulent charges if you pay a small monthly fee, usually after a 30 - 90 day free trial, in which case any charges that show up on your statement that are not your authorized purchases, will be unconditionally credited back to your card, and an investigation will most likely ensue to try to prevent a reoccurrence.

Once you get past the apprehension of credit card fraud, there are a number of practices that will ensure a positive experience.

Is the lowest price the best deal?

When price comparing different e-commerce stores there are some things to consider, is the item brand new, refurbished, re-packed, a factory second, or even the name brand that is stated, these are all important factors to consider when comparing prices, and many sites will state what grade of merchandise they carry if it is good for business, for instance, I have seen prices for a specific digital camera range from $99.95 to $279.95 for the exact same camera and the msrp was $229.00, so I ask myself, why so high, or so low, if I choose the lowest price am I getting what I would get if I paid the high price? Well obviously the highest price is not one's first choice, but here are some answers, the higher prices might be due to a poor choice of wholesaler or distributor, or a lack of buying power due to low volume sales, or a high overhead that needs to be considered by the merchant, or maybe they are also brick and mortar store and do not want to severely undercut the prices in the actual store with their online prices. Now when evaluating low prices consider buying American made, because there are a number of foreign manufacturers that produce cheap knock offs of the original, which are available at much lower prices than their American counterparts, also check the item listing for very small,(fine print) or similar colored text (almost invisible), stating that it is either refurbished or a factory second, and when buying branded items make sure the item picture reflects the advertised brand name, and is not an inferior knock off, this happens most when shopping for accessories like picture cards, removable mass storage devices, and other types of digital media, and similar accessories. Something else to look out for is the price of shipping, and the geographical location of merchant, for instance, compare the shipping charges for the same item on a few sites, that are located in the same area, if one price is much higher, they might be advertising a low price but make it up in the way of a handling charge added to the shipping charge, also if you narrowed down your choice of sites to just a few, then buy from the one geographically close, which will minimize the shipping charge, an example would be if you live in California, and your narrowed down sites are located in New York, Dallas, and Seattle, the lowest shipping charges would likely be from Seattle, now if there is a site also in California, you might still consider the Seattle site to save on sales tax, provided the company does not also have a physical store in California as well, because then they will also be required to charge sales tax, on the positive side, some merchants might show extremely low prices on items that have been discontinued by the manufacturer, and the merchants want to move excess inventory before they lose their profit margin all together, so checking with the manufacturer, if the item is current, will explain such a low price, or they might be a "wholesale to the public" type merchant with tremendous buying power, and warehouse space in which case the savings are passed to you, another explanation for low prices can be the use of drop shippers, and warehouse co-ops, which reduces the overhead for online merchants because they do not need to tie up thousands of dollars in inventory to make minimums, and the expense to house that inventory, all of which can contribute to lower prices, along with being in a very competitive retail venue.

Feedback and ratings!

There are many opportunities to give feedback or rate your experience with a site. What do you choose, a highly rated store with higher prices, or a store with little or no rating with lower prices, well I for one have many times, passed on offering a rating, by not responding to the email sent, just because of the lack of time, so these should be considered on the lighter side, for instance, a high number of ratings may not all be positive, or they might have lost sight of a customers value because business is so good they no longer feel the need to go the extra mile to make or keep a satisfied customer, on the other hand, no ratings at all might only mean it is a reasonably new store and has not received the customer count of the big guys, but my thought is this, give the little guy a shot, in their pursuit of sales they are more likely to go the extra mile to win over a customer, and possibly offer an incentive to return to them for future purchases.

How to search for your purchase!

I would recommend getting as much information about a product or products from the original manufacturer's website, they usually offer the most comprehensive information about their products and usually a suggested retail price, but generally do not sell direct, but instead provide a list of sites you can purchase from, with that said, consider this, after visiting the manufacturer's site you probably made the decision as to which product model you want to purchase, when doing a search engine search, include the make and model in your search query, rather then a general search term like "fish finder" or "digital camera" this will accomplish a few things, first it will reduce the number of results, and make the results you do get the most relevant, then search engines usually, under these circumstances, will provide a "price compare" link, for instance Google will provide Froogle results, or a Yahoo! Search might provide a Yahoo! Shopping link to a price compared list of possible merchants, and then there are the links like Shopzilla, Price grabber, Next tag, or shop.com, to name a few, these links all provide easy access to price comparing, but be advised that many of these results are "sponsored" which means merchants paid to show up in that search result, and may not be the only relevant sites to choose from!

Where do I go to shop for many items?

Many e-commerce sites are pretty specialized, in as much as they offer a comprehensive selection of the type of merchandise they specialize in, a metal detector store for metal detectors and accessories, or a camera store for digital cameras, picture cards, and batteries, etcetera. Although these stores often have the most competitive prices they might not be your best choice when shopping for many different items, that's where your Internet department stores might be a better choice, and I will tell you why, if you were to buy a metal detector for your Nephew, and a digital camera for your Mom, and a GPS fish finder for your Dad, and a paintball gun for your Brother, and some jewelry for your Niece, buying these items each from a different store will not be as cost efficient as taking some time to find a department type store that has all these different items for offer, even if their prices are a little bit higher, because all the shipping will be calculated by the total weight of the order, not rounding up each item to the next whole pound as when purchased from separate stores.

May all your Internet shopping experiences be positive ones!

Myspace.com - What Parents Need To Know

MySpace is a website that was designed for social networking. While it is intended for individuals 18 years of age and older, the truth is that the majority (at least at this point) of people with MySpace profiles are those under 18. Teenagers in particular have flocked to MySpace are predominately responsible for its success.

However there is a downside here. Often, talk of teen sex, drug use and other situations adult situations many parents would prefer their children to read about or be exposed too. What shocks parents the most is to find that their children post their own comments and experiences on without any regard to the repercussions of such self exposure.

One of the most common problems with teenagers (and younger children as well) is their inability to connect what they do today, to their life in the future. It's extremely difficult for teens to see that there are often consequences to their actions or pictures that they post on MySpace and other similar social networking sites.

But for many parents, the largest concern is that the 'profiles' kids create for themselves are not always used for the innocent purposes that the children intend. The internet allows individuals to pretend to be anyone they want. This anonymity becomes a problem when it's used to sexual predators and other dangerous individuals that use MySpace in order to find potential victims. Teenagers are especially vulnerable when it comes to society and peer pressure. This is the age during which many children think that they are invulnerable and will live forever.

But the fact is that it's those types of thoughts that forces teenagers in particular to be the most vulnerable.

Social networking sites like MySpace.com can be used that does in fact help friends to stay connected and help fulfill the socialization issues teens go through, but the fact is that they are also used in a more sinister manner by those internet predators that use sites like MySpace as a hunting ground. In May of 2007 MySpace.com officials confirmed over 30,000 registered sex offenders had they own profiles on MySpace. And many of these indivuduals are pretending to be teens themselves in an effort to 'groom' an unsuspecting child for later molestation or worse.

When parents understand more about MySpace and what opportunities there are through MySpace, the good and the bad, it is easier to understand how to protect children and teenagers from dangers and threats that they may end up facing. The sad truth is that sometimes websites are not as harmless as parents innocently believe them to be. This is problem is made worse because teenagers do not fully explain the type of sites they visit and in the way that they hide their social networking activities because they know that their parents would disapprove.

Instead, children may just tell their parents that they do not understand 'social networking', and blow off their parents concern. But by being proactive, staying informed and staying on top of their teen's online activity, parents are more likely to be able to keep their children safe.

Of course there are dangers on the Internet, and there will always be. The trick for parents is learning how to adopt your child to using the internet in academic and social ways without putting themselves in any type of real and immediate danger.

8 Tips For College Students Wanting To Apply For A Credit Card

High school life is over. Youve moved away from home and youre starting a brand new chapter in your life with college. Independence feels great, but its sure to feel greater if youve got your own credit card, dont you think?

8 Tips for College Students Wanting to Apply for a Credit Card

Heres what you can do to make the credit card application process as hassle-free as possible.

Tip #1 Prepare proof of identification. Have your photos ready as well as all your valid IDs. Credit card companies will always have to verify that you are indeed who you say you are before you can proceed any further. IDs where your age is stated are also preferred because you have to prove youre at least 18 years old as well. If you have any bills under your name, take them with you as well because they can serve as proof of residence.

Tip #2 Prepare proof of schooling. Credit card companies generally prefer to issue credit cards to students who belong to accredited colleges and universities. If you belong to such a school then youre in luck. If not, you can compensate it by showing your previous records if theyre excellent, that is. Just like when youre applying for a drivers license, credit card issuers also take academic and extra-curricular excellence as a sign of maturity and trustworthiness in your part.

Tip #3 Prepare proof of financial assets. Student credit cards tend to charge higher rates than usual, but you might be qualified for lower rates if youre already working or you have money and a bank account in your name. Either way, make sure you can submit documentary proof of your work or assets.

Tip #4 Speaking of interest rates, the first thing you should look for in a credit card is the lowest possible interest rates. This might mean not being able to enjoy a reward-based credit card, but at your age, you might not yet afford the higher rates charged by credit cards offering reward points. If you see a 0% APR credit card, make sure to check how long the offer would last and what the standard APR is afterwards.

Tip #5 A number of credit cards allows you to apply even without a cosigner, but some of them tend to have stricter application requirements. If you dont want to go through the trouble of submitting additional requirements, simply ask your parent or legal guardian to act as your guarantor when you apply for a credit card.

Tip #6 Always look for a credit card that allows you to manage your account online. This will allow you to check your account balance regularly and know when and how much you have to pay for your credit card every month.

Tip #7 There are a few additional perks that you might deem necessary. If you are fond of shopping online, look for a credit card that offers you fraud liability guarantee at no extra cost. Other credit cards offer you thank you points for being a prompt payer.

Tip #8 Now that you know what you need from a credit card, find one that matches your preferences and then submit your application. Remember to be courteous and answer all their questions honestly. Youre sure to have your application approved in no time. Have fun with responsible swiping!

Organizing Your Financial Records

I get a lot of questions about financial statements, the most common of which is, How long should I keep them?

Before I say anything else I recommend you contact your accountant and attorney to find out which financial documents you need to keep and for how long.

I have introduced many people to my filing system for dated household papers. The system I recommend reduces the amount of time you spend dealing with paperwork by 50%. This system has two stages:

STAGE 1

The first stage focuses on your active paperwork. This is paperwork you need to do something with other than just file it away. It is still active. For active paperwork, I recommend using a literature sorter or wall pockets. These require just one swift motion to put the paper away. Keep your literature sorter at the location you tend to bring in the mail and set it down. Two of the cubbies in your literature sorter should be labeled To Be Paid and To Be Filed.

STAGE 2

The second stage helps you deal with paperwork when it becomes inactive. This is when you are done using it for the time being, and you just need to file it away for future reference. It is now inactive. For this stage I recommend 12 hanging files labeled JanuaryDecember. You file each item according to the month it is dated.

Here are some tips on dealing with specific types of financial documents

Monthly Checking Account Statements: When you first receive your checking account statement in the mail, put it in the literature sorter in the cubby labeled To Be Paid. That way, when you are ready to pay your bills and balance your checkbook, you find your bank statement with your bills.

After you balance your checkbook, you are ready to file your statement away with the other paperwork that has become inactive. File it in the appropriate month. If your checking account statement was for January 8th through February 8th, it would be filed in your January file because it is Januarys statement.

When you clean out your files each year, I suggest you contact your bank and ask them these questions:

* How long does the bank keep a record of your statements?
* How accessible to you is your statement information should you ever need it?
* How easy is it to get a copy of your statement from the bank should you ever need one?

Find out if it would be easier to get statement information by calling your bank or by going online. Would it be easier than digging through all your old papers to find your own copy? Sometimes it is. On the rare occasions you need access to old statements, it may be more practical to pay 75 cents to request a copy from the bank than storing it yourself.

Also, it may be more practical to let the bank store it for you rather than dedicating your precious storage space in your home which costs you some amount of real money per square foot to purchase, heat, light, tax, and clean. If it is, then shred your checking account statements when you clean out your files at the end of each year. If it is not, store your old checking account statements in your storage room. Keep them for seven years.

Savings Account Monthly Statements: When you first receive your savings account statement in the mail, put it in the literature sorter in the cubby labeled To Be Filed. When your To Be Filed cubby gets full, transfer them to your files labeled January- December according to the date of the statement.

When you clean out your files at the end of the year I suggest you ask your bank the same questions mentioned above. Ask them what circumstances will you ever need your old savings account statement information? In most instances, the savings account statement has already served its purpose by the end of the year. You really dont need to hang onto your savings account statements longer than that. Shred or store your statements according to your conclusions after speaking with your bank.

Monthly Credit Card Account Statements: When you first receive your credit card statement in the mail, put it in the literature sorter in the cubby labeled To Be Paid.

After you reconcile your statement and make your payment, you are ready to file your statement away with the other paperwork that has become inactive. Again, file it in the appropriate month.

When you clean out your files at the end of the year, I suggest you contact the bank your credit card is through and ask them the same questions. Take the same actions as listed above.

Credit Card Receipts: When you first receive credit card receipts, put them in the literature sorter in the cubby labeled To Be Paid. When you are ready to reconcile your credit card statement, pull out all your credit card receipts to be reconciled then staple them to the credit card statement they belong to.

After you reconcile your statement, you can file them in the monthly files with your other inactive paperwork. Keep them with your statement until you are ready to shred them.

Debit Card Receipts: Handle debit card receipts the same as you handle credit card receipts; only, use them to reconcile your checking account statement. Staple them to and store them with the statement.

Good luck implementing these simple steps. Youll see a big improvement in the time savings and the reduction of papers in your files. Its a great feeling!

Jesus And Mohammed Were Schizophrenics

According to all medical encyclopaedias and psychiatric reference books, schizophrenia is any of a group of psychotic disorders usually characterized by withdrawal from reality, illogical patterns of thinking, delusions, and hallucinations, being accompanied in varying degrees by other emotional, behavioral, or intellectual disturbances. Schizophrenia is associated with dopamine imbalances in the brain and defects of the frontal lobe and is caused by genetic, other biological, and psychosocial factors.

Just about everything of what is said in the Bible and the Koran about the founders of those two creeds, points in the direction of a biochemical imbalance in their brain. These men showed systemic signs of delusion in their behavior.

They claimed to have heard heavenly voices, which is a typical symptom of this disease. People with schizophrenia tend to hear, see, feel or smell things that are not there. Just as in a dream, where fantastic events can not be distinguished from real ones. Thus, the hallucination of a voice is perceived in the brain just like a real person talking.

In present times psychiatrists and psychologists have reported millions of cases of people who claim identical things, consisting of two or more voices conversing with each other. However, nobody else has ever been able to hear the voices. Not the doctors, not the nurses, and not even the family members of the patient. That was exactly the situation for Jesus and Mohammed. Only they heard the voices and it was not because they were the chosen ones. It was simply because the others did not suffer from that neurological disequilibrium.

Since in modern times religion does not play a powerful role in the lives of people, many of the persons assuring to have heard voices did not claim it came from God. In ancient times when the belief in the divine was omnipresent, everybody assured it came from above.

Whether in the past or in present times, in all cases the person always clings to these beliefs even after the beliefs are shown to be false. That is a typical symptom and that is what Jesus and Mohammed did. In their times many contested their claims with strong rational arguments but both clung on to their unsubstantiated ideas.

It is human nature to explain things simplistically and religions excel in simplifying things when trying to explicate any phenomenon. Due to the total absence of scientific information in the ancient times in which those two characters lived, it was inevitable that they and their contemporaries would interpret that situation as a divine calling.

Illogical patterns of thinking, is another common expression of this mental illness and both men experienced it. The structure of their thoughts was completely detached from reality and there was never an effort to search for correlations or establish causality linkages. These men never substantiated their arguments with statistical evidence or with historical facts, basing everything on anecdotes and so called commands from God.

Withdrawal from reality and the experiencing of hallucinations are also typical symptoms, and both men were completely delusional. They thought they could walk over water, move mountains, feed the masses, and cure diseases. The truth of the matter is that the historians of the time did not report any of these events. Given the large scale following that these men had in Palestine and in the Arabian Peninsula respectively, it was inevitable that something as huge as the supply of food and medicine to a hungry and ill population would have been recorded in some way. However, nothing was reported.

What was reported was the violent way in which Mohammed instituted his belief in the peninsula, for he waged war to impose his will.

What was also reported was the continued misery and sickness of the population of both lands. There were no such miracles as the transformation of uneatable goods into food and wine. Life expectancy was of just eighteen years of age in Palestine and the Arabian Peninsula before the coming of Jesus and Mohammed, and during the time they realized their miracles, people continued to die by the droves at the same early age. Nothing improved while they spread their gospel. Not the food supply of the country, not the level of health, not the quality or the quantity of housing, and not even the level of crime or household violence.

Once they died and rose to Heaven, where they supposedly took better care of their people for they could lobby more directly God, the miserable living conditions of those two territories remained as bad as before. Hundreds of years went by and the people of the region prayed uninterruptedly to the God that Jesus and Mohammed had peddled, but there was still no improvement.

When life finally started to improve, in the nineteenth and twentieth century, it was not because their prayers were finally answered but because there was an inordinate amount of scientific and technological discoveries.

The religions that Jesus and Mohammed founded have never delivered concrete benefits to the Middle East or to any other region of the world. There have been numerous unsubstantiated claims, but non that could be quantified in a serious way or that could be classified as progress.

They on the contrary mislead the world in the wrong direction and in doing that, hindered progress. Over the past two thousand years, the religions they created have systemically restrained the advance of science, which is the only thing that brings wealth to humanity.

Despite the harm that they have caused, they cannot be blamed for misleading humanity. The reason they cannot be blamed is because they were sick. They were mentally ill and cerebral illnesses are beyond the control of the person that suffers from them. Schizophrenia is due to genetic, biological or adverse psychosocial factors.

It is not clear whether the cause driving Jesus and Mohammed to behave like they did was genetic, biological, psychosocial, or if it was a mixture of two or more of those factors. Whatever the cause, the fact is that they were both victims of circumstance.

However, it is almost a certainty that the third factor played an important role. The extreme violence of their times and the deplorable misery of the epoch played a major part, for such atrocious conditions tend to push people into efforts of mental escapism. Just as a child who is regularly beaten and sexually abused tends to seek refuge in a fantastic world of myths and legends, so do adults who are confronted with terrible conditions that seem insurmountable take refuge in a world of fancies.

The poverty and the violence of the times were indeed insurmountable and it was only until the nineteenth and twentieth century that the Middle East and the rest of the world started to experience some significant improvement in living conditions. In that two-hundred year period, life expectancy in the Middle East went from twenty in 1800 to sixty eight in the year 2000.

To understand the dangers that schizophrenia can cause when people who suffer from it attain positions of influence in a nation or in the world, it is worth pointing at what the latest research has revealed about the worst war of all times.

The Second World War was the sole responsibility of Adolph Hitler and new studies show that the Austrian suffered from schizophrenia. In Hitlers family there was a long history of this disease and in his case the main variable causing it was clearly genetic. However, the psychosocial factors seem to have also played a part for he was brutally beaten by his father, he became orphaned at an early age, lived in dire poverty once his parents died, and experienced the horrid savagery of trench war during the First World War.

The biochemical imbalance in the brain of Hitler caused the death of fifty million people and left traumatized several generations of Europeans, Jews and others who suffered. History teaches that humanity must not deposit its faith in people with unstable brains, and Jesus and Mohammed were that kind of people.

Socialize Your Wordpress, Blogware or Blogger Blog With A Single Click Of Your Mouse

Blogs(A.K.A. - Weblogs) are the BIGGEST thing going right now online because of there many uses for both the Web Surfer and the Internet Marketer.

But, you probably already know that so for the purpose of this article I'm not going to talk about 'Blogs' in general because I'm sure you've read enough about them by now and/or you already have a few kicking around the net.

What I'm going to share with you Right Now is something I discovered while surfing the net researching Tag and Ping tactics and Social Bookmarkleting because I run more then a few blogs online and wanted to find out how I could take advantage of this whole Tag and Ping and Social Bookmarkleting thing with as little effort as possible.

If your new to this whole Tag and Ping game then let me give you a quick summary of what a Tag is and what a Ping is so there's no confusion as you continue through this article.

*Tags* - Tags are simply *category names* and are selected by you using keywords around whatever niche your blogging about and are included within each post you make, that is, if your blog is set up for Tags.

*Ping* - By Pinging your letting the weblog trackers(like Technorati for example) and the search engines now that your blog has been updated with fresh content and is ready for their spiders to come and crawl your blog for indexing into their databases.

This is where the - Tags - come into play for your blogs posts because as soon as the social bookmarkleting service spiders your blog, it will list your post under that given Tag you chose. So it's very important you choose your Tags wisely.

Now that you know the basics of the Tag and Ping concept, lets now get into what I discovered so you too can incorporate it into your blogging mix, whether you use Wordpress, Blogware or Blogger as your blogging software.

But before I do, lets first talk about what Social Bookmarkleting is for a quick minute.

Social Bookmarkleting, just in case your not quite sure, is simply a collection of your favorite articles, blogs, music, restaurant reviews, photo's or whatever it is that you find interesting on the web and is saved into your public profile through whatever Social Bookmarkleting service you choose.

Technorati, Digg, del.icio.us, furl are just a few Social Bookmarkleting services available on the web which is why I'm writing this article because I came across a free plugin while surfing the net that you can use on Wordpress, Blogware and Blogger blogs that will connect you to over 50+ social bookmarkleting services through one click of your mouse giving your blog audience multiple options to share your blog post or blog with the world which in turn will increase your traffic and popularity of your blog.

If you want to read up more about this plugin you can go to ==> http://www.socialize-it.com

Also, when it comes to Tagging your blog make sure your choose your Tag wisely. I recommend you go to Technorati - http://www.technorati.com - and look at the TOP 100 tags since Technorati is the BIG Daddy in the blogosphere and will give you the most popular Tags results to use within your blogs niche.

(TIP: The bigger and bolder the Tag the more popular the topic is.)

After you've done that, start Blogging.

The more posts you make, the more pages you'll generate with the "Socialize-It" button helping spread the word about your blog and getting your blog added in whatever Social Bookmarkleting service database your blog reader is apart of.

I hope you found this article helpful and take action on what you have just learned.

Good luck!
